CARTOM- 01 What is TomTom Live Services ?
The TomTom LIVE Services includes :

TomTom HD Traffic

This services allows you to receive detailed incident reports about traffic delays and incidents. It includes the following features:
- Informs you of the length and reason of the delays,
- Travel and arrival times
- Offers you alternative route proposals.
- Real time information updated every 2 minutes
- Covers up to 95% of highways, as well as A and B roads.
Mobile Speed Cameras

The TomTom Mobile Speed Cameras gives you advanced warnings on fixed speed cameras and real-time warnings for mobile speed cameras. This services warns about the following cameras:
- Mobile speed cameras
- Fixed speed cameras
- Red light cameras
- Bi-directional cameras
- Vehicle restriction cameras
- Average speed checks
- Mobile camera hotspots and accident black spots
- (Ungated) railway crossings
LIVE QuickGPSfix

Your Carminat TomTom device uses the signals of at least 4 satellites to find out where you are in order to start navigating. The LIVE QuickGPSfix speeds up the time it takes to fix your GPS position, helping you to set off within 30 seconds - even when the GPS signal is weak or partially blocked.

Weather

This service gives you local, daily, and five-day forecasts on your TomTom device, helping you make plans based on the weather.

TomTom Places

TomTom Places allows you to search for certain specific locations and businesses in order to navigate to these.

CARTOM- 02 How do I get TomTom LIVE Services working ?

There are two different subscription options, one year or three years :

A 1 year subscription at a cost of £55. You may renew it via the TomTom HOME application itself by following these simple steps:

1) Start the TomTom Home Application.

2) Insert your SD card.

3) Log in to your account.

4) On the Main Menu select the "Add Traffic, Voices and Other Services” option, and then the "Live Services" option and follow the steps described in order to purchase the service.

CARTOM- 03 How do I get my TomTom system working?

The first step is to download the TomTom HOME application and register with TomTom.

You can find instructions on how to download and register with TomTom, as well as the installer itself here : https://www.tomtom.com/22251

Through this application you may view the content in your device, download any products and services, and personalise your device.

Once you have registered and downloaded the TomTom HOME application you may now take care of the SD Card.
CARTOM- 04 My vehicle does not have an SD card, where can I get one ?
Once you have registered and downloaded the TomTom HOME application you may now take care of the SD Card. You will need to purchase a SD Card and then the UK & ROI downloadable maps.

As the current SD cards on the market have not been tested with the Carminat, a suggestion before purchasing any SD Card would be to first try using one that you have at home as these are very frequently used in cameras. You may try using an SD (Secure Digital) or SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) as these usually work with Carminat devices.

If however you do need to purchase a memory card the best option would be to purchase a regular 4 GB SD Card from a local store.

Once you have a SD Card insert it in your Carminat TomTom and turn it on. When a message is displayed that "Your SD Card is now ready to use" or "No Maps Found" safely remove the SD Card by turning off the satnav first and then removing the SD Card. Now insert the SD Card in your computer, start up TomTom HOME and login.

Finally you may now purchase maps :
1. On the Main Menu select the “Purchase Maps” option.
2. Now on top next to “View” click on “Recommended Items” and select “All”.
3. Find the UK & ROI map or any other map you would like on the list and select it by clicking on “Buy”.
4. Now a window will be displayed informing you once again of the price of the map, select the “Checkout” option.
5. Then, tick the “I agree with TomTom's terms and conditions” and confirm the order.
After purchasing the map you will need to install it onto your device by following the instructions below:
1. On the Main Menu select the “Update my Carminat TomTom” option.
2. A list of updates will be offered, select all of these and click on “Update and Install”.
3. Continue the download process following the instructions given by TomTom Home.
4. After the download, click on the blue button in the bottom right corner of TomTom Home in order to safely remove your SD card.
5. Now you may insert your SD card in your device and confirm that all is fully working.
CARTOM- 05 How do I update the maps in my Carminat TomTom ?
There’s a few options you can choose when purchasing new maps for your device.

First, you have the Map Update Service. This is a pack which entitles you to 4 updates per year, giving you every single release of your current map for one full year. The price for this service will depend on your current map version, TomTom offers a personalised discount depending on this.

You may find the pricing by following these two simple steps:
1. Insert your SD Card, start up TomTom HOME and login.
2. On the Main Menu select the “Purchase Maps” option, and a window will automatically appear asking you if you wish to Update your Current Map, which refers to the Map Update Service. In this window you will be able to see the full price of the 12 month service as well as the discount you are entitled to.
If you then wish to update your map through the Map Update Service then follow the steps below:
1. Select “Yes update my map” button.
2. Now a window will be displayed informing you once again of the price of the service, select the “Checkout” option.
3. Tick the “I agree with TomTom's terms and conditions” and confirm the order.
Once you have purchased the service, you will need to install the newest map version onto your device. To do this follow the steps below:
1. On the Main Menu select the “Update my Carminat TomTom” option.
2. A list of updates will be offered, select the map and click on “Update and Install”.
3. Continue the download process following the instructions given by TomTom Home.
4. After the download, click on the blue button in the bottom right corner of TomTom Home in order to safely remove your SD card.
5. Now you may insert your SD card in your device and enjoy your brand new map.
The second option is acquiring the single map update which updates your map to the latest version. You may find the price list for the different maps available here:

If you wish to purchase the Single Map Update, please follow the steps below:
1. On the Main Menu select the “Purchase Maps” option, and when the window referring to the Map Update Service appears select “No, I'm interested in other maps”.
2. Now on top next to “View” click on “Recommended Items” and select “All”.
3. Find themap on the list and select it by clicking on “Buy”.
4. Now a window will be displayed informing you once again of the price of the map, select the “Checkout” option.
5. Then, tick the “I agree with TomTom's terms and conditions” and confirm the order.
After purchasing the map you will need to install it onto your device by following the instructions below:
1. On the Main Menu select the “Update my Carminat TomTom” option.
2. A list of updates will be offered, select the map and click on “Update and Install”.
3. Continue the download process following the instructions given by TomTom Home.
4. After the download, click on the blue button in the bottom right corner of TomTom Home in order to safely remove your SD card.
5. Now you may insert your SD card in your device and enjoy your brand new map.
Finally the third and last option is to purchase a SD Card which already has the Europe map pre-installed, which is sold on TomTom's website for £99.95 pounds.
